51 years ago April 5-6, 1971 today Jim took the photos for the Allman Brothers album “Live Fillmore East” in Macon Georgia across the street from Capricorn Studios. The original idea for the cover was to put the band under the marquee at the Fillmore East with their name on the marquee. They didn’t like the results and they were disgusted with the album artwork being done by Atlantic Records. They went home to Macon, Georgia with Jim Marshall in tow who woke them up early to take the pictures. After stenciling the road cases himself with “The Allman Brothers Band At Fillmore East” Jim had the roadies stack the cases put the band in front of them and the rest is History!⁣
